A HISTORIC partnership was signed in Sheffield yesterday marking a pioneering step in the fightback against the so-called gig economy.

Sheffield Trade Union Council and the Bakers, Food and Allied Workers Union (BFAWU) signed an agreement jointly appointing a union organiser to recruit workers exploited through zero-hours contracts, pitiful wages, insecure employment and other practices.
