Gerard "Ged" Killen (born 1 May 1986) is a Scottish Labour Party politician. Since the 2017 snap general election on 8 June; he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Rutherglen and Hamilton West after achieving a vote swing of just under 9% from the SNP's Margaret Ferrier.
He joined the Labour Party in 2007 and was elected as a Councillor for the Rutherglen South ward of South Lanarkshire Council aged 26, at a 2013 by-election (following the death of Cllr Anne Higgins), having been a defeated candidate in the main 2012 elections.
He retained his council seat at the 2017 UK local elections, this time in the Rutherglen Central and North ward.
