Tanmanjeet Singh "Tan" Dhesi was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Slough in 2017.
Career
Dhesi is the former mayor of Gravesham and the chair of Gravesham Constituency Labour Party in Kent where he stood unsuccessfully at the 2015 general election.
He became Britain's first turbaned Sikh MP in the 2017 general election and gave his maiden speech in the House of Commons on 18 July 2017.
