C2. Education
Everyone has the right to free education throughout their lifetime and we will ensure education is equally accessible to all. We will provide a varied and fulfilling education for all.
Policies
PS132 Ensure maximum class sizes of 20 for all school children
PS133 Fund more non-contact time for teachers to prepare and plan
PS137 Fund arts and music education for every child
PS138 Change the curriculum to teach pupils life skills
PS139 Pupils will learn both the science of horticulture and environmental studies
PS141 Budget and day-to-day decisions will be transferred back to schools and overseen by the local education authority
PS142 Responsibility for delivery of education and support for young people will sit with local education authorities
PS143 Local education authorities will manage and have responsibility for school places, including the power to open schools
PS147 A new teacher supply service will tackle the waste of funds going to private supply teacher agencies
PS165 Create a National Education Service (NES)
PS166 Bring in higher education under the control of the Local Education Authority as part of the NES
PS169 Ensure all public Higher & Further Education establisments have adequate research funding
